Cookie policy

Last updated: 10 May 2026 · Version 1.0

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences or keep a session signed in. There are essential cookies —which the site cannot work without— and optional cookies (analytics, advertising, third-party tracking) that require your consent.

2. What OQUEA does today: only what is essential

As of today, OQUEA uses only the strictly necessary cookies and local storage for the Platform to work. There is no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking.

Specifically, the only items we use are:

  • Firebase Authentication session. When you sign in —either with an email magic link or with your Google account— Firebase stores an identifier in the browser (using IndexedDB and, depending on the browser, cookies) to keep you authenticated. Without this you would have to sign in every time you change tabs.
  • Local preferences. We store options such as your selected language or units (metres/feet, bar/psi, °C/°F) in your browser so you do not have to set them on every visit.

These technologies are exempt from the duty to obtain your consent under article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI) and the AEPD Cookie Guide, as they are technical and necessary for the provision of the service you request.

3. What we do NOT do

To leave no doubt, today:

  • We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics or any other web analytics tool.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels from ad platforms.
  • We do not use social-media cookies or third-party cookies that track you across sites.
  • We do not sell or share usage information with third parties.

4. What if we add analytics in the future?

If we decide in the future to add measurement or analytics tools (for example, Firebase Analytics), or any cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will:

  • Update this policy explaining in detail what will be used and for what.
  • Show a consent banner on your first visit, with clear options to accept, reject or configure.
  • Activate no non-essential cookie until you give your consent.
  • Allow you to withdraw consent at any time from this policy or from your profile.

5. How to manage cookies in your browser

Even though we do not use optional cookies today, you can at any time accept, reject or delete cookies from your browser settings. Here are the links to instructions for the most common browsers:

Note that, if you block the browser's cookies or local storage, you may not be able to keep your session signed in to OQUEA and might need to sign in again every time.

6. Third-party cookies we use as tools

Some links inside OQUEA take you to third-party services (for example, those of your email providers). Those services have their own cookies and policies, over which OQUEA has no control. We recommend reviewing them if you choose to visit them.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when we add new tools or when legal requirements change. The version in force is always the one published on this Website, with its date and version number at the top. If the changes affect the use of non-essential cookies, we will notify you and, where appropriate, ask for prior consent.

8. More information and contact

For more detail on how we process your personal data, please consult our Privacy Policy.
